I have always had a passion for helping children to thrive and to become all they are designed to be. I qualified as a teacher over 25 years ago and have taught children aged from 3-18. I loved teaching and had always been able to create a calm, warm and non-judgemental atmosphere in the classroom. Latterly, I saw more and more mental health needs emerging in the classroom so I decided to retrain in order to help children to address these issues. As a play therapist, I have been able to use many of the same skills that I used in teaching to create a safe space where the children feel seen and heard and can feel and express their emotions.
